1985-1986. Junior researcher of the Stone and Bronze Age department, Institute of Archaeology, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. Duties included complex analysis of Mesolithic stone artifacts from Upper Volga and various field investigations.

1987-1991. Researcher of the Stone and Bronze age department, Institute of archaeology, Russian Academy of sciences, Moscow. Main subject - complex investigation of the Mesolithic, also various research in the Stone Age of Eastern Europe.

1990-1992. Assistant director of the Archaeological Agency, Moscow. Duties included field and cameral research of Mesolithic and Neolithic sites on Upper Volga, planning and concluding contracts, excavations and surveys in areas of various building activities, relations with Historical Preservation management.

1991. Experimental researcher, Museum of the History of Moscow. Duties included making exact copies of Mesolithic bows and arrows and giving consultations for the exhibition "Moscow region through centuries".

1992-present. Senior researcher of the Stone Age department, Institute of Archaeology, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. Director of the Upper Volga expedition. Duties include the full spectrum of academic research activities, writing successful grant applications, preparing reports etc.

1992. Experimental researcher in prehistoric tool-making, Polytechnic Museum, Moscow. Duties included making artifacts of different epochs and giving technological and functional consultations.

1995. Crew leader during experimental construction of a Neolithic dwelling in its actual size with a set of weapons, tools, pottery etc during summer in Tver region. The slightly minimized dwelling with experimental artifacts is exhibited in the Tver regional museum.

1992-1999. Director of a private archaeological firm. Duties included field surveys and excavations of various archaeological sites from terminal Paleolithic to 18^th century A.D. on Upper Volga; laboratory investigation of artefacts (morphological, technological, use-wear and experimental studies); planning and concluding contracts, excavations and surveys in areas of various building and other activities; preparing surveys and excavation reports, standard passports of archaeological sites and other documentation; relations with Cultural Resources Management, museums etc.

1992-present. Director (before 1993 – assistant director) of the Upper Volga expedition of the Institute of Archaeology, Moscow. Usually 20-50 members of excavation crew, 3-6 persons in surveys. Excavations of the most important stratified multilayer sites on the Upper Volga (Tver, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Vladimir, Ivanovo regions). Surveys and emergency excavations of various archaeological objects in Central Russia. Usually 3-5 months in the field.

1999-2001. Assistant director at excavations in Arolampi, Finland, directed by dr. Heikki Matiskainen. Also field surveys in Riihimaki region of Finland.

Conducting my own field surveys since 1975, about 1000 sites from terminal Paleolithic to 18^th century A.D. discovered. Conducting my own excavations since 1979, more than 40 Stone, Bronze, Iron age and medieval sites excavated. Working with my official license since 1975.
